COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A Covington mother who pled guilty to criminal abuse charges related to the death of her 9-month-old daughter was sentenced on Tuesday.

Megin Gray will spend the next five years behind bars.

Investigators say Gray had taken Xanax, Percocet with alcohol before going to sleep the night before her daughter's death. She awoke to found the baby girl badly burned next to a baseboard heater. The baby was rushed to the hospital, but had already died.

Gray pleaded guilty in November to four counts of criminal abuse. The coroner rule the baby's death was an accident.
