LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -
The Ohio Parole Board has denied parole for a man who killed a woman in Warren County.
Gary Steven Heath is serving prison terms for convictions in both Hamilton and Warren counties. In 1994, he was convicted of aggravated burglary, attempted murder, burglary and felonious assault in Hamilton County. In 1996, he was convicted of a murder in Warren County and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.
Heath was also convicted of receiving stolen property in 1982 and breaking and entering in 1979. In both cases, investigators say Heath was paroled from prison, violated his parole and was returned to prison.
"I applaud the decision by the Ohio Parole Board and am please to know Heath will remain behind bars," said David Fornshell, Warren County Prosecutor. "I thank the community for their support and letters to the parole board opposing the release of this dangerous felon."
Heath's next parole hearing is scheduled for 2021.
