Deters responds to Ben-Gal cheerleader investigation

EDGEWOOD, KY (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Ben-Gal cheerleader who gained national attention by suing a gossip website that claimed she was promiscuous is being investigated for having an inappropriate relationship with one of her students.

Rob Sanders told FOX19 on the phone that no criminal charges involving Jones have come to his office.

Jones resigned on November 29 from Dixie Heights High School where she taught Freshman English, saying she was leaving for "personal reasons."

Lawyer Eric Deters, who represented Jones in the defamation suit, says Jones is being investigated for having an inappropriate relationship with a student, however she is innocent. Deters goes on to say Jones sat down with investigators and is being fully cooperative.

Deters says Jones resigned because of all the rumors and he says she will be teaching again.
