Several hurt, including 4-year-old, in Crosby Twp. crash

CROSBY TWP., OH (FOX19) -

SR 128 was closed in Crosby Township after an accident with several injuries Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred just before 10:30 a.m. on SR 128 near New Haven Road. According to police, a 2003 Dodge Dakota driven by Jeffrey Harris, 49, crossed the double yellow line into the northbound lane, putting it on a collision path with a 2001 Ford Ranger driven by Glenn Branigan, 48.

Both trucks swerved into the southbound lane to avoid a collision, however, the left front portions of both vehicles collided causing the Dodge Dakota to rotate and exit the right side of the roadway.

Harris had to be extricated from his vehicle before being transported to University Hospital. He is listed in stable condition. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Branigan was also transported to University Hospital and is listed in stable condition. Brandie Hart, 27, was a passenger in his vehicle and was transported to University Hospital and is listed in serious condition. Hart's 4-year-old daughter was also a passenger in the vehicle and was taken to Children's Hospital. She is listed in stable condition.

Police say that Branigan and Hart were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash. They also say that the 4-year-old was wearing a lap-style seatbelt, and not a required child car seat.

No charges have been filed in the crash.
