DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A Deerfield Township movie theater is closing its doors.
Thursday is the last day of operations for the Rave Motion Pictures on Kings Island Drive.
A message on the theater's phone line says, "We regret to announce that Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 will be the final day of operation for Rave Cinema at Kings Island."
Real estate documents show the theater was sold to the Rivers Crossing Community Church, which currently meets at Kings High School.
A spokesperson from Rave Motion Pictures told FOX19 that they sold the theater because the cost to upgrade the theater to digital projection and stadium seating would be too expensive. Rave bought the theater from National Amusements two years ago. Most Rave theaters have digital projection and stadium seating.
The spokesperson also said this will not affect its operations at other Rave theaters.
