CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Councilman Christopher Smitherman introduced a motion on Wednesday requiring members and staff to attend ethics training annually.
"It is very important that Council have the highest ethical standards so the people of Cincinnati have confidence in our moral integrity," said Council Member Smitherman. "Tax payers should have the confidence that our behavior and/or our staff's behavior will not impact the tax payers."
According to the motion, staff would have to complete ethics training within 90 days from the date of hire, if the staff is hired after the annual training session. The training would be conducted by the City Solicitors office.
