Pilot program to help CPS schools reduce waste, energy

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Keep Cincinnati Beautiful (KCB) will be kicking off its newest program, Sustainability In Action, on Friday.

The program is aimed at helping schools reduce waste, energy, and water consumption through recycling, composting, and other initiatives identified by Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS).

Six pilot schools will receive a sustainability coordinator to assist students and faculty with the implementation of "green" practices throughout the remainder of the school year.

This program is made possible due to support from Procter & Gamble, Hamilton County Recycling & Solid Waste, and the City of Cincinnati's Office of Environmental Quality.
