School board to decide future of Quebec Heights Elementary

The Cincinnati Public School board is meeting Monday night, and they are expected to decide on the future of Quebec Heights Elementary School.

The board may decide to close the school permanently due to declining enrollment.

The original plan was to renovate the school, but an arson fire last month and a rash of recent violence led to a decision to demolish the old school.

Current Quebec Heights students are attending Reese E. Price and Carson Elementary School.

Parents say they were promised a new building and are concerned about overcrowding. But CPS superintendent Mary Ronan says the school is facing declining enrollment and is in academic emergency.
