Trial back on: Dimora trial set to begin on Thursday

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Nearly one week after seating a jury, the corruption trial of Jimmy Dimora is set to begin.

The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals denied Dimora's motion to dismiss one of the indictments against him. His attorneys claimed the indictment charged him twice for the same thing -- therefore he faced double jeopardy.

Judge Sara Lioi had announced she was halting the trial until the court ruled on the motion.

The trial, if all goes as planned, will start Thursday morning.

Jimmy Dimora has pleaded not guilty to multiple corruption and rackateering charges.
