Former teacher convicted of having sex with teen denied early release

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Hamilton County Judge denied early release for a former Delhi Township teacher convicted of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Salvatore Magro, 53, was sentenced to four years in prison last summer after pleading guilty to three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Magro was a social studies and religion teacher at Our Lady of Victory in Delhi Township.

Magro pleaded for his early release in front of a judge, saying, "I feel like I was the eye of a storm and the destruction that I caused everybody around me was just massive and that in itself is just heartbreaking to me."

However, the lawyer of Magro's victim was also at the hearing, reading a letter on her behalf. "Sam Magro was charged with 6 counts of unauthorized sex with a minor. He pled guilty to 3 of those counts. He was sentenced based on those 3 counts. The actual number of times he had sex with me is closer to 300 times, maybe more," the letter said.

It was added that Magro's victim wants Magro in prison until she graduates high school and can leave the area.

The judge sided with the victim, and sent Magro back to prison.
