Attempted abduction reported in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - Middletown Police are investigating a report of an attempted abduction Wednesday morning.

Police say a 12-year-old girl was walking to a school bus stop in the 5000 block of Bentwood Drive when she was approached by a suspect with a knife.

When the girl tried to run away, the suspect grabbed her and cut her hand with knife. She was not seriously hurt.

The girl was able to get away, and the suspect fled in an unknown direction toward a nearby subdivision.

K9 units were called to aid in the search but unable to the locate the suspect. He remains on the loose.

The suspect is described as a tall white man wearing a black T-shirt, jeans and a black hood.
