A fire has severely damaged a home in Clermont County's Miami Township.
Flames broke out around 5 a.m. at the home in the 5700 block of Elwynn Drive, at the corner of Deblin Drive. The residents woke up to the smell of smoke and a light haze throughout the house and discovered fire showing in the attic above the bathroom.
The resident evacuated the home and called 911. Upon arrival, Miami Township firefighters found fire showing from the roof and eaves on the back side of the home. They had the fire under control within 10 minutes of arrival.
There is extensive fire damage to the roof and some smoke and water damage throughout the rest of the house. Firefighters will be on the scene for an extended period of time to make sure the fire in the insulation is completely extinguished.
The family of three, a woman and her two sons, will be displaced for an extended time frame until repairs can be made.
