Two teenagers die in car accident early Saturday morning

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Two teenagers are dead after a car accident on northbound Interstate 71 early Saturday morning.

Police say one car holding four people lost control around 4:00a.m. while driving on the Interstate near the Fields Ertel exit.  Danica McLester was operating a 2005 Chrysler Concord when she lost control and hit a traffic sign, causing the car to roll over. Olivia French, 19, and Matt Shuttleworth, 18, both of Wilmington, OH were ejected from the backseat of the car. They both died at the scene.

McLester, 19, of Wilmington, OH was taken to University Hospital where she is listed in serious condition.

Derrek Jones, 22, also of Wilmington, OH was in the right front passenger seat of the vehicle.  He suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bethesda North Hospital.

The highway was shut down for three hours after the accident happened.

Police say the cause of the accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.  It is unknown at this time whether alcohol and/or drugs were involved.
