LATONIA, KY (FOX19) - Covington Police chief Lee Russo told the West Latonia Neighborhood Association Monday that they are no definitive suspects in a string of recent church break-ins.
"We're getting some leads. We're following those down. But definitive suspects at present? No," said Russo.
The string of break-ins began Christmas Day at Trinity United Methodist Church on E. Southern Avenue. The First Church of God on W. Southern Avenue was hit on New Year's Eve and Latonia Christian Church on Decoursey Avenue was burglarized on Jan. 4.
"Obviously there's a pattern when you begin to see one, then two and then a third," Russo said. "Lighting. Lighting is the number one deterrent against burglaries. Criminals do not want to be seen."
According to reports, investigators believe the burglaries were committed by either the same people or group of people.
Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call Covington Police at (859) 292-2222.
