Car & small SUV crash head on in Colerain Twp.

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Two people are hurt after a head-on accident Tuesday afternoon in Colerain Township.

It happened on Pippin Road, near Civic Center Drive; that's near 275. Police say that the accident happened when Danny Minich, 34, crossed the center line with his 2006 Toyota Scion and into the opposite lane. He then hit a 2001 Mazda Protege being driven by Christine Boron, 68.

Boron had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Colerain Township Fire Department, who responded to the scene. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. Minich was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Both Boron and Minich were taken to University Hospital, and are listed in stable condition.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the accident, but they do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. Minich has been charged with a marked lane violation and failure to wear his safety restraint.
