WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County park board worked to raise money for the new Simmonds Family Dog Park in Whitewater Township with their first fund raising campaign Thursday.
The new dog park will be located at Miami Whitewater Forest and will be more that 11 acres. It will have four separate play fields, dog agility and play zones, benches and trees.
"Our facilities will not only provide recreation for their dogs, but recreation for their children, each other, and have a whole experience as they go down there so we're really looking forward to it," said Harold Date, President and CEO of Cincinnati SPCA.
On Thursday, the fund raising campaign featured design plans of the future dog park as well as information materials.
The goal of the campaign is to raise $500,000 to make the facility a reality.
Once the park is built, it will be the largest dog park in southwestern Ohio.
