SWAT situation ends peacefully in Avondale

AVONDALE, OH (FOX19) - A man is in custody after a SWAT situation in Avondale.

Police responded to Vine and Erkenbrecher just after 4:30 a.m. on a report of a man making threats and throwing things at neighbors.

When police got there, the man made threats at officers, then barricaded himself inside a home. He threatened to burn down the home using gasoline.

At about 6:30 a.m., James Yoder was taken into custody. Police say Yoder will be charged with two counts of aggravated menacing after he is taken to University Hospital for evaluation. He is also charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damaging.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the situation.
