CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Police Department is working toward a more productive relationship with the area's taxi drivers.
Police Chief James Craig invited owners and drivers of taxi cabs to a forum with police officers on Monday night.
A series of smaller meetings had already been held with taxi drivers, but Chief Craig says it was important to hold this on a larger scale.
"You start building relationships," said Craig. "The take aways for us might be issues we were unaware of that we couldn't deal with on a one-on-one basis, but when you start hearing groups of people saying the same thing, then it's something we should concern ourselves with."
Some of the issues expressed by taxi drivers included the need for more training, a uniform fare between Northern Kentucky and Ohio, and more respect from police officers.
