CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati City Council is expected to approve $10 million for the "Homeless to Homes" campaign Wednesday.
The money would go towards building four shelters in the area.
The $10 million would come from several funds the city has access to:
- $1.6 million would come from block grant money the city uses for community development, such as public building improvements and housing for low-income families
- $1.4 million would come from capital funds the city never spent
- $5 million would come from a federal loan the city will try and get
- $2 million would come from the 2013 capital budget
The measure to approve the money made it through the council's Finance Committee in a unanimous vote Monday.
