CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Casino projects in Cincinnati and Cleveland have awarded 41 percent of construction contracts to businesses owned by minorities and women through the end of 2012.
Rock Ohio Caesars LLC, the owner and developer of urban casinos in Cleveland and Cincinnati, says the contracts total more than $77 million to companies with Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or Women Business Enterprise (WBE).
Construction costs for the 354,000 sq. ft. casino being built in Cincinnati is about $150 million. ROC has awarded contracts valued at more than $89 million, with 34.8 percent awarded to MBC and WBE certified companies in Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Horseshoe Casino is expected to open in 2013.
