Deputy, K-9 help find Alzheimer's patient

LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -

A 73-year-old Alzheimer's patient was safely returned to his family thanks to the help of a Warren County Deputy and his K-9.

The man wandered from his home in the 4800 block of Lebanon Road at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night. He was reported to be wearing only his pajamas and his house slippers.

Deputy Kelly Hammonds and his K-9 partner, Tango, responded to begin a search. The track took them in a different direction than searchers had been looking. A short time later, the man was found near SR 48 and Dwire Road, lying on the ground.

Tango is a 4-year-old German Shepherd who has been in service with Dep. Hammonds since 2009.
