A 17-year-old girl has died after a crash in Waynesville.
It happened around 9 p.m. Thursday night on South Main Street and SR 73.
Police say Chelsea Miller, 17, of Dayton, was attempting to cross SR 73 when she was hit by a westbound Chevy Blazer driven by Kaleb Shannon, 20, of Waynesville.
The impact pushed Miller's vehicle into a guardrail on the north side of SR 73.
A front seat passenger in Miller's car, Alexis Smith, 17, of Beavercreek, was pronounced dead at the scene. Miller suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kettering Medical Center. Two rear seat passengers, Ricky Kemp, 19, of Franklin, and Ricky Dixon, 18, of Springboro, suffered critical injuries and both were transported to Miami Valley Hospital. Kemp was ejected through the rear window of the Pontiac. Dixon was found to be trapped in the rear of the Pontiac. Both are currently in critical condition.
Shannon was not injured.
The cause of the traffic crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
