MONROE, OH (FOX19) - Monroe Police are searching for a truck and over 7,500 feet of copper wire that were stolen from Duke Energy.
According to police, the utility truck and the copper wire were stolen sometime between 11:00 pm Monday and 5:00 am Tuesday from the Duke Energy facility located on Todhunter Road in Monroe.
Approximately 20 rolls of various sizes of copper wire were stolen, which is approximately 7,600 feet copper wire.
The truck is a white Ford F-550 with an Ohio licence plate #PFS4652.
During the theft, police say it appears the suspects damaged a storage room in the facility while loading the stolen wire. Approximately $3,500 worth of damage was cause to the building.
There were no signs of a break-in, and the police report states that the suspects appear to have used key card access to enter the gated area. Police are reviewing security footage to try to apprehend the suspects.
