Closing arguments coming in Butler Co. child rape trial
HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -
Both sides have rested at day three of the Alfredo Lopez Cruz rape trial.
Cruz is on trial for raping a 9-year-old girl in 2005.
Starting a 12:30, the defense and prosecution will give their closing arguments.
Nearly a half dozen witness took the stand for the prosecution on Wednesday.
A Hamilton County deputy and finger-print examiner took the stand and verified that pictures taken of finger prints on the alleged victim's Precious Pearl bicycle seat matched Cruz's fingerprints.
Also on the stand was a forensic examiner who testified male saliva was found on the back of the legs and nipple area of alleged victim's body. He also testified that blood samples taken from Alfredo Lopez Cruz's mattress matched the alleged victim's DNA. However, the forensic examiner said no semen was found anywhere on the alleged victim's body.
