CHEVIOT, OH (FOX19) - Cheviot will honor the millions of troops who have either been killed or wounded in combat.
The City will proclaim itself a Purple Heart City during a ceremony on Feb. 7.
The Military Order of the Purple Heart will present a flag to the city of Cheviot during the ceremony and is proud to salute Mayor Sam Keller and City Council as they honor Ohio's Purple Heart recipients.
Ed Vlaikov, Junior Vice Commander of Cheviot's Chapter 3620, will receive the proclamation. Tony Kohl, Department of Ohio Commander, along with other chapter members will participate in the ceremony.
The ceremony will take place at City Hall Chambers at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
