Police: Man offered cop $5,000 to not arrest him

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Wyoming, Ohio man is behind bars after police say he was in possession of heroin and then tried to bribe a police officer to let him go.

Antonio Steele, 28, is charged with trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs.

According to Hamilton County court documents, the arresting officer located a digital scale in plain view in Steele's rental car, which was parked at the Econolodge in Sharonville.

When the officer made contact with Steele, he had a marijuana cigarette butt hanging on his lips. During a search, the officer found 16.1 grams of heroin inside Steele's jacket pocket.

After finding the heroin, Steele offered the officer $5,000 in cash to let him go. He then admitted to using and selling heroin.

He was taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
