UNION TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Those awaiting the opening of the second Jungle Jim's location in Union Township will be glad to know that the international food market is scheduled to open by early summer.
Two 12-foot gorillas will welcome visitors to the new location.
"One of the gorillas will hold a sign welcoming you to the Foodie Entrance and the other will keep watch," said Jungle Jim's affable Director of Development Phill Adams.
The new location will be slightly larger than the first Jungle Jim's in Fairfield.
"Every time you come here you will have a new adventure," said Adams.
The new Jungle Jim's will feature almost 300 refrigerated units, a 1942 fire truck in the hot sauce section, decorative watercraft in the seafood section, a unique honey display and airplane parts in the wing sauce section. There will also be a movie theater featuring the story of how Jungle Jim's began and a documentary covering the building of the Eastgate store.
Adams would not get specific but did hint that the bathrooms will be unique, just like the ones at the Fairfield location, which are modeled after port-o-lets. Adams said the restrooms at the Clermont County will be purple.
A portion of the old Kings Island monorail will be outside the store, as well.
Over 100,000 people are expected to visit the Clermont County Jungle Jim's; Adams said the typical visitor spends about 2.5 hours.
The new location is located on Eastgate South Drive.
Adams said there will be a job fair about four weeks before the opening; however those interested in a job can click here to fill out an application.
