LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -
An attorney for Ryan Widmer has once again filed paperwork to overrule Warren County Common Pleas Judge Neal Bronson's ruling to get a fourth trial.
Paperwork was filed on Wednesday with the 12th District Court of Appeals.
Judge Bronson already denied a motion for a fourth trial on Jan. 17.
Ryan Widmer is currently in the Warren Correctional Institution on a 15-years-to-life sentence for drowning his wife Sarah in their bathtub in 2008. Widmer's lawyers had sent in a motion to the Warren County Courts for a new trial and new genetic testing to be conducted in the case.
Widmer was found guilty of his wife's murder in 2009, but the verdict was tossed after juror misconduct was discovered. The second jury was hung. After a three week trial in January and February of last year, a jury found Widmer guilty after about 12 hours of deliberation.
