LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) - Lawrenceburg hotels and restaurants saw a boost in business as rooms were scarce in Indianapolis on Super Bowl weekend.
"It was a good experience. It was a good weekend and we were pleasantly surprised," said Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce president, Mike Rozow.
A majority of Lawrenceburg's 1,000 hotel rooms were booked with Hollywood Casino seeing most of the overnight business.
"I made a call to the hotel and they said we're getting all these phone calls from people. They told me, 'We just can't put them up now,'" said Rozow.
Some Lawrenceburg restaurants also got into the game and saw a boost from the Indy crowd.
"We got the spill over from them which was awesome," said Linda Kern, owner of Buffalo's Southeast Cafe. "It was fantastic business this weekend. Saturday night was our best night."
