CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Mayor Mark Mallory will meet with members of the Obama Administration to share streetcar development strategies in Washington DC.
Mayor Mallory is attending the third annual Streetcar Summit in Washington DC Wednesday and Thursday. The Mayor has been invited to the two-day summit to share Cincinnati's development strategies with other cities building Streetcars and learn about new federal funding opportunities.
"People have seen what we've been able to do with our Streetcar project in Cincinnati and they are impressed," Mayor Mark Mallory said.
"We are in a position to help other cities learn from what we have been through. The summit is also an opportunity to talk with cities that already have streetcars to make sure that we are as innovative and efficient as possible as we build our project."
At the summit, Mayor Mallory will meet with officials from the Obama Administration from the Department of Transportation, the Federal Transit Authority, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
He will also be meeting with staff from the Appropriations Committees of both the Senate and the House of Representatives to discuss transportation funding and policy issues.
