1 dead in Colerain Township rollover crash

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A rollover crash killed one person in Colerain Township late Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened at around 5:45 p.m. in the 7200 block of Harrison Avenue. According to police, Joseph Wade, 69, was driving his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado in the right lane, speeding to get around vehicles in the left lane of Harrison Avenue. Wade reportedly lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to change lanes.

Trying to regain control of his vehicle, Wade's truck began to slide sideways and then rolled over several times. Wade was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, who was also in the vehicle, refused treatment at the scene. Neither Wade or his passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident. The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit.
