MASON, OH (FOX19) - The city of Mason and two of its police officers are at the center of a wrongful death lawsuit.

The estate of Douglas Boucher, 39, says he died after officers Daniel Fry and Sean McCormick excessively tased and beat him while trying to get him in custody in December of 2009.

Boucher was reportedly attacking a gas station clerk and wouldn't follow the officers' instructions.

The lawsuit is seeking compensatory and punitive damages and requests a jury trial.

The Mason Police Department says the officers followed protocol.
