The bumper sticker on the back of Holly Barnes' car reads: "Bad ass girls, drive bad ass cars!"
Holly drives a 10-year-old Mazda MX 6. It's a sporty little car. Not a "Bad" car.
But the 20-year-old nursing student had plans. She was buying a body kit with customized side skirts and bumpers. Holly shopped around and found what she was looking for on Ebay. Holly bought the Body Glove body kit. She sent the owner, TA Motorsports, a money order for $579 bucks.
Eight months later, Holly is out the body kit and her hard-earned money. The seller never sent the goods, and kept the money.
Buying on-line can be risky. It's also the latest Tell, Tom Consumer Alert.
Here's what FOX 19 found out about TA Motorsports: It's based in Utah. It's supposedly run by Adam Hemmelgarn. And, as Holly later learned, it's got a bad reputation on Ebay.
So bad, that Ebay recently banned TA Motorsports from doing business because of several "fraud complaints."
Warning: When buying from Ebay, make sure you check our the buyer's history.
