Bob's Beef Casserole

Recipe from Bobbi Stinnett of Tenn.

2 lbs ground beef

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 packages of instant gravy mix

3 - 4 cans of your favorite vegetables

4 - 5 good sized potatoes (cooked, prepared, and mashed) or (instant mashed potato mix)

6 - 8 servings worth of garlic salt or powder

Shredded cheese of choice, if desired

Fry the ground beef and onion until it is browned. Drain and place the meat into a large baking dish. Sprinkle the gravy mix over it. Add your favorite seasonings. Drain the vegetables, using the liquid to make mashed potatoes (adds flavor). Now place this layer on top of the meat. Add water, enough to make the vegetables look like they are slightly submerged. Now make your next layer using the mashed potatoes. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees or until potatoes or cheese is melted and browned.

Everyone's sauce recipe is different. This one is more Sicilian and was handed down from my grandparents. The key is no exact measurements just flavor with ingredients below to taste.  In a large pot
