Texas EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team has appointed Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Ruby to its Board of Directors.

Texas EquuSearch is best known for its horse-mounted lost and missing persons search services.

Working with local law enforcement agencies, it has become involved in many high-profile cases including the abduction of Natalee Holloway, Caylee Anthony and Katelyn Markham from Fairfield Township.

Ruby recently offered a $25,000 reward for information on Markham's disappearance.

EquuSearch founder and Executive Director Tim Miller believes Ruby's compassion for crime victims and their families and his ability to build public awareness will play a key role in helping the firm achieve its objectives.

"Our clear goal is to return those missing back to their loved ones." Miller said. "Jeff is such a unique person in that he has a passion for helping those in need and the courage to actually speak out and take action about issues that are meaningful to him. His abilities and involvement will be incredibly valuable to us and we're very pleased to have him on board."

Miller and Ruby first became acquainted with each other during the Caylee Anthony search and subsequent trial.

"I had seen Tim on Nancy Grace discussing his work and I was very moved," said Ruby. "Here's a guy leading a group that does all the right things for the right reasons."

Last summer when Equusearch became involved with the search for Markham, Ruby knew he had to participate.

"I called Tim and just asked what I could do to help. I was very pleased to be able to help provide resources which aided in the search and also helped take care of the other volunteers who worked so hard."
