FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - David Ison, the man accused of killing five people in Franklin County, pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
According to a report in the Batesville Herald Tribune, Ison entered the plea during a court appearance Tuesday morning in Franklin County Circuit Court.
Ison originally pleaded not guilty to five counts of murder in the September slayings of Roy Napier, 50, his estranged wife, Angela, 47; their children, Melissa, 23, and Jacob, 18, and neighbor, Henry X. Smith, 43, in Laurel, Ind. Investigators say Ison killed the family over drugs.
The plea came after prosecutors said they would not seek the death penalty against Ison.
Ison's formal sentencing is scheduled for March 14 at 9 a.m.
