COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

A man who is accused of robbing and kidnapping a 74-year-old woman from a shopping center parking lot has been indicted.

Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders says a grand jury has indicted Joseph Weir, 39, for robbery, kidnapping and being a persistent felony offender.

Weir is accused of kidnapping Ann Lee Ernst from the Crestview Hills Town Center in May of 2011. He allegedly went through her purse and drove her to Miami Township in Hamilton County, where she was tied up and gagged.

Weir is also accused of robbing the Huntington Bank in Covington earlier this month. He was identified as a suspect in the kidnapping after being arrested for the bank robbery.

He was in court earlier this week on the bank robbery charge and had his bond set at $50,000.
