Fairfax girl, 8, to get award for placing 911 call

FAIRFAX, OH (FOX19) - An 8-year-old Fairfax girl is receiving a special 911 award for helping save her mother's life.

On Feb. 11, the Hamilton County Communications Center received a call from Ashley Faulkner, who told the dispatcher that her mother was having a seizure. It had occurred outside the family's home, and temperatures were below freezing.

Ashley remained calm and answered all the necessary questions to ensure a prompt response from the Little Miami Fire and Rescue. Ashley also got a blanket for her mother to keep her warm until first responders arrived.

Ashley will presented with a 911 hero award on Feb. 21 at the Fairfax village meeting in Fairfax.
