Cincinnati Children's to build $115 million research tower

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has announced plans for an eleven-story research tower that the hospital says could add more than one-thousand jobs. The key occupant of the new space will be a Center for Computational Medicine, which uses high-power computers to study genetic links and treatments for disease. Construction is to start within six months. The tower is projected to open in 2007. It will increase research space at Cincinnati Children's by about 70 percent, making room for another 160 faculty researchers who are expected to be hired over the next eight years.
