Police ID man hit by car in Union Township

UNION TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police have identified a man who was hit by a car Thursday night in Union Township.

The accident happened on Mt. Carmel-Tobasco Road near Robert A. Taft Road just before 10 p.m.

Police say James Housley, 49, was intoxicated when he tried to walk home from a friend's house. He walked into traffic in the 4300 block of Mt. Carmel-Tobasco Road and was struck by a vehicle driven by Amanda Hammonds, 22, of Milford.

Housley was taken first to Mercy Hospital Anderson, then flown to University Hospital. He is in critical condition.

The Union Township Police are investigating. No charges are expected to be filed.
