Police: Woman stabbed husband with butcher knife

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A Reading woman is behind bars after police say she stabbed her husband with a butcher knife.

Evelyn Kemadjou, 48, is charged with felonious assault and domestic violence.

According to Hamilton County court records, Kemadjou was engaged in an argument with her husband and began slapping him in the face, causing multiple lacerations to his forehead, nose and right cheek.

The husband told police that Kemadjou grabbed an 8-inch knife and swung it at his legs, and then stabbed him in the back.

Kemadjou told police as she was being arrested that she grabbed the knife because she was scared. She said she threw the knife at her husband and then went into the bedroom.

The husband suffered a 1-inch stab would to the right side of the his back. He's expected to be OK.

Kemadjou is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
