Attorneys General Zoeller and DeWine team up for March Against Hunger
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Attorneys General Greg Zoeller and Mike DeWine are teaming up with the Freestore Foodbank to support the fourth annual March Against Hunger food drive competition on Monday.
The foodbank has partnered with Feeding Indiana's Hungry or FIsH, which helps raise money and food for those in need.
"Hunger knows no boundaries in the Tri-State region, and I am confident that Cincinnati area law firms will step up to the challenge of collecting donations for area food banks," said DeWine.
Freestore Foodbank President Kurt Reiber said the bank serves more than 300,000 people annually in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana with the help of member agencies such as soup kitchens, shelters and food pantries.
"We are so grateful for the strong support of the leader of our communities, like Attorneys General Greg Zoeller and Mike DeWine," Reiber said. "March Against Hunger is important because it brings attention to the issue of hunger that people are facing in all of our neighborhoods, and an excellent example of how we can all be part of the solution."
Last year, 50 law firms in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana raised more than $27,000 and donated more than 6,000 pounds of food.
