SARDINIA, OH (FOX19) - An 86-year-old Sardinia man died after his pickup truck crossed the path of another vehicle on Route 32.
The Ohio State Patrol says Phillip D. Wilson failed to yield for a stop sign on Stieman Road at Route 32 and his 1994 Chevy 1500 was hit by a 2007 Ford Edge headed eastbound on 32. Wilson was not wearing a safety belt and was thrown from his truck.
The driver of the Edge, Dustin Blakley, 28, of Hillsboro and his three passengers, Jamie Blakley and, 30, Kaytlyn B. Sutterfield, 11, both of Hillsboro, and Rodger Hayslip, 24, of Winchester were taken by Sardinia EMS to the Mount Orab-Mercy Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Philip Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Brown County Coroner, Dr. Tim McKinley.
The crash closed eastbound 32 for some time. It remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol- Georgetown Post.
