Local high school is joining Facebook to get info to parents - Cincinnati News, FOX19-WXIX TV

Sycamore High School is joining Facebook

Parents gathered at Sycamore High School to learn how the school will soon be entering the social media world.

The school says it plans to go from having just a website to operating their own Facebook page. The intent is to get information out to parents and students in a more informal setting.

"Typically a school district has a website and every once in a while they get a press release or some photos up there. With a Facebook page, it's more real-time so you can consistently update it and provide all kinds of video, photos and content you're not going to find on a platform like a website," said Shane Haggerty of Great Heights Communication Company.

Sycamore High School says they will be monitoring the comments posted on their Facebook page to keep it kid-safe.
