Fred Englehardt, 31, of Colerain Township has been found guilty in his mother's death.
Until her body was discovered, relatives of Diana Englehardt thought that she was missing. According to police Englehardt was telling people that his mother passed away from a heart attack.
Police say Englehardt beat his mother to death with a hammer, wrapped her body and hid it outside the family's home last spring.
Hamilton County Judge Norbert Nadel compared the case to the Hitchcock movie Psycho because Engelhardt claimed that his mother never let him have contact with the outside world.
Judge Nadel has set a April 1 sentencing hearing.
