MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - An 18-year-old student was arrested for bringing a .22 caliber rifle to the Live Oaks Campus in Miami Township.
Police say the school's resource officer received a tip that there was a gun on campus. When police investigated the vehicle of Kevin J. Volker Jr. they found the rifle.
"At no time were any students or faculty in any danger as there was no ammunition present for the weapon," said School Resource Officer Steve Burgess in a statement. "This was more a case of very poor judgment with no apparent ill intent."
Volker was taken to the Clermont County Jail and charged with one count of possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds and one count of falsification.
