CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A new exhibit opens this week at the Cincinnati Museum Center.
A Day in Pompeii takes a look at the Roman city of Pompeii as it was frozen in time by the catastrophic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
Pompeii's archeological treasures rarely leave Italy, and this national touring exhibit marks the first time that these rare treasures will come to the region. Room-sized frescos, marble and bronze sculptures, jewelry, gold coins, and hundreds of priceless ancient artifacts join body casts of the volcano's victims, eerily preserved in their final frantic moments.
The Cincinnati Museum Center is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
An all museum pass that includes admission to the OmniMax theater is $19.50 for adults and $12 for children.
