Hamilton County Prosecutor Mike Allen is taking steps to investigate a complaint that assistant prosecutor, attorney James P. Kenney improperly touched a 21 year old male.
Allen said that Kenney resigned Friday morning from the Prosecutor's Office, effective immediately.
"It is so very important in situations such as this to take swift action to protect the integrity of the office as well as the public trust. We will and must remain above even the appearance of impropriety," said Allen.
Allen also announced Friday that a special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate the complaint that is currently under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.
The incident is alleged to have occurred at Kenney's residence on February 15, 2004.
