HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A former West Chester police officer will spend six months in jail after being charged with leaking confidential information to a drug dealer.
David Busemeyer plead guilty to tampering with evidence and obstructing official business.
A judge handed Busemeyer the sentence on Thursday.
According to court documents, Busemeyer is accused of tipping off a drug suspect about a sting operation.
Police say that drug suspect is the brother of a woman Busemeyer was having an affair with.
The documents also say that he was using drugs himself.
As part of his sentence, the judge ordered Busemeyer to pay court costs, continue drug rehab when he leaves jail, keep a full time job when he is released and he was also fined $2000.
