Day seven of jury deliberations in the Jimmy Dimora corruption trial. He and co-defendant Michael Gabor face a total of 37 bribery and corruption charges.
The alternate jurors arrived shortly after 10AM.
Thursday afternoon, jurors asked a question of Judge Sarah Lioi about count 34 of the indictment. This has fueled speculation that the jury could be nearing the end of deliberations. There is no way to know exactly what the jury is doing as they deliberate in private out of sight and hearing of everyone at the courthouse, including Judge Lioi.
Dimora, Gabor and their lawyers are standing by about two blocks from the Akron Federal Courthouse so they can respond quickly when a verdict is reached. They must also be present when questions from jurors are asked in court. The question had to do with a definition of what income must be declared on federal tax returns. Several of the charges against Dimora, including Count 34, involve non-payment of income taxes.
19 Action News is standing by at the Federal Courthouse in Akron and will have the very latest as soon as a verdict is reached.

Dimora is supposed to serve his sentence on federal bribery charges at a federal prison in North Carolina, but more than four months after his sentencing, he's still not there.
